A radiant beginning
In 1974, Horst Sonnendorfer and Franz Wieth founded systec. Through innovative lighting concepts, the young entrepreneurs achieved initial market success and secured major clients: systec lighting systems can be found in the headquarters of several Frankfurt banks and at the European Patent Office in Munich.
An idea brings about the breakthrough
In the continuous search for new product ideas, the first patented coin deposit lock for shopping carts was developed in 1981. This marked a breakthrough for systec. As a result, the 10-person development and project company grew into the global market leader in coin deposit systems, with over 80 employees.

In a very short period of time, Systec managed to win over all leading shopping cart manufacturers worldwide as partners: Delivery reliability, consistently high product quality, ISO 9001-certified processes, and low assembly and maintenance costs formed the foundation of this success. Today, 5,000 product variants are successfully in use across more than 50 countries. Retail corporations such as Metro, Carrefour, Walmart, and Rewe rely on Systec's more than 40 years of experience for their international expansion.

Today, compact, unobtrusive, and user-friendly systems are in high demand. systec has consistently led this trend—from the sliding lock with its prominently visible mechanism, to the uniloc, the first sliderless deposit lock, to the euroloc, seamlessly integrated directly into the handle.
